The way you type when working at a computer may be the foundation for a new password system being tested by researchers from 2 major universities.

Research teams from Virginia Tech and Penn State are indicating user typing techniques are as unique as speech patterns and can be used to implement new computer security and privacy systems.

According to BayouBuzz.com,

Louisiana Tech Associate Professor Vir Phoha, and former graduate student, Sunil Babu, have worked with Penn State researchers for over five years to develop software capable of analyzing one´s unique typing pattern.

BioPassword, Inc. of Issaquah, Washington holds the patent. Professor Phoha says, " We look at the time between key strokes, and the time it takes to press a key."
